Adaptation- is a body part or behavior that helps something live.
Basic Need- food, water, air, and shelter
Extinction- What happens when all members of a species die out.
Fossil- Evidence of a plant or an animal that lived long ago.
Hibernation- a dormant, inactive state in which normal body activities slow
Instinct- an inherited behavior that helps an animal meet its needs
Learned Behavior- Behaviors that were taught to an animal and help it meet its needs
Migration- Animals moving as a group from one region to another and back.

tell scientists.
