Hello...Happy Hump Day!

Tonight for homework:

• Read 20 minutes *Please sign your childs' planner with the title of the book they are reading*
• Write for 5 minutes
• Name Symmetry (Put your name in CAPS and find all the lines of symmetry in your name) and find the lines of symmetry in the hexagon. DUE TOMORROW 9/6/12
• Chapter 18 Math Quizzes went home today (9/5) please sign and BRING THEM BACK TOMORROW (9/6)
• Land form test will be sent home tomorrow!

Please make sure you are signing your childs' planner every night and checking their folders for important information!

This week in Ms. Bergin's Class...

I hope you enjoyed the long weekend!  Here's what we are up to this week!

-In Math we are learning about moving geometry (turns, flips, and rotations).  I sent home a family newsletter that has vocabulary help for this chapter.

-In Reading we are continuing to build our reading stamina and writing about what we are reading.  Students should be bringing home "just right" books to read each night.

-In Social Studies students have a quiz tomorrow on landforms, they should have their geographic picture dictionaries at home to study from.  This week we are learning about longitude and latitude and more about using maps.

-In Writing, students are beginning to write in their writer's notebooks.  Their homework assignment this week is to decorate their notebooks to their liking.

*Please be sure you are checking your child's take home folder for notes and assignments.

*Be sure to initial your child's assignment notebook each night.

*Friday folders will be sent home this Friday be sure to read teacher comments and sign the back of them.

*I will be entering grades in SIS grade book throughout the week so my goal is that by Friday everything so far will be in there.
