Sappington's Walk-a-thon Information

Help us with the
Sappington Elementary Water Project Walk-a-Thon!



When & Where: Wednesday, October 12, on the playground at Sappington Elementary.  Walkathon begins promptly at 8:55AM and ends at 3:15 PM. They are to walk the distance that a villager has to walk to get clean water in Africa, which is approximately two miles. 

Registration for this event is free with a minimum pledge goal of $4 per student. As a school we are setting a goal of raising $4,500 to help purchase a well for a village in either the country of Sudan or Sierra Leone.

Please ask for pledges from family members and family friends. Write the name of the donator and the amount you have received. Collect ALL pledge money before October 12. All pledge money is due on the day of the Walkathon- October 12.

Please dress appropriately in comfortable clothing and good walking shoes.  Water will be provided at the end of the path, to show that they walked the distance for clean water.

Dear Parents,

You are invited to bring your entire family to The Magic House to celebrate our school-wide Peace Ball!

·         Bring a camera to take a picture of your child and family with the Peace Ball
·         Come to the Main Entrance; if early, wait on the porch until doors open at 6 p.m.
·         Bring water; there are no refreshments in the evening
·         Enjoy the nation’s most popular Children’s Museum
·         Celebrate the Peacemakers that created your school-wide Peace Ball with individual actions of
compassion, fairness and conflict resolution.

Blood Drive Next Tuesday

St. John's is sponsoring a Blood Drive at Sappington next Tuesday, October 11, from 2:15pm-6:15pm in the cafeteria. Information will come home with your student this week.  Please consider donating if you are able.  Students with family members who donate will participate in a kickball game with Mr. Hamby. 

Miss Zelle's Book Projects

Don't forget that First Quarter book projects are due this Friday, October 7th.  Please let me know any questions you have before then. 

Miss Zelle's Science Quiz Tuesday

Students will be taking a quiz over Chapter 3 Lesson 1 tomorrow.  They should study their notes on this lesson; basic needs, adaptations, migration, and hibernation, their worksheet from class today, and the book.  You can access the book online, or have your student bring home a book to study.
