Unit 9 Math Test Wednesday - ALL Fourth Grade!

The Unit 9 math test is Wednesday, October 3.  Study guides are coming home with students Monday.  In addition to study guides, students should study their notes and review the following information:

• Finding Area and Perimeter of figures on grid and dot paper
• Using the Area formula to identify the length of an unknown side
• (Area = Length x Width)
• 3-D Solid Figures: name and identify 3-D shapes
• faces, edges, vertices
• Nets: Identify a 3-D figure from its Net

Grant's Farm Night

Reminder: Grant's Farm Night is THURSDAY, Sept 27th.  Gates open at 5:30, and season passes will be honored.  We’re encouraging kids to wear their grade-level colors, to allow for faster recognition of friends.

Kdg:  Red

2nd: Orange

3rd: Yellow

4th:  Purple

5th: Green

Sappington is a National School of Character, and we want to be good guests at Grant's Farm.  We hope that parents will help remind the children to enjoy themselves while being respectful of our Grant's Farm hosts.

Book Projects Coming Home Today

For their first quarter projects, students may choose to COMPLETE any fiction chapter book they like, and then create a Book Cover. The book they select must be read in its entirety during the 1st quarter (it can be a book the student has already finished this quarter).  Directions have been explained in class, and rubrics/materials have been sent home with your child.  Book Cover projects are due no later than Monday, October 8.  Please feel free to contact your child's teacher if you have any questions regarding this assignment.
