Ms. Flinn's Homework

Math:

Math Quiz over Ch. 18 on TUESDAY! Please use your Math Journals and Study Guide to review for the quiz! We will review before taking the quiz.

Social Studies:

Some students need to finish their Geography Picture Dictionary over the weekend.
The test will be on WEDNESDAY over the underline words (about 15 words). The students should use their dictionary to study....they need to know the word and definition.

You can still buy entertainment books!!!!! $30

Chapter 18 Math Quiz on Tuesday-All classes!

All fourth graders have a math quiz Tuesday over Chapter 18. Please review with your child the following information:

Polygons - Regular vs. Not Regular (Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Pentagons, Hexagons, Octagons)
Circles - Radius, Diameter, Chord
Triangles (3 Kinds: Acute, Obtuse, Right)
Quadrilaterals (Classifying Trapezoids, Parallelograms, Rectangles, Rhombuses, and Squares)

Your child should complete the study guide and look over his/her math notebook to prepare. We will review as a whole class before the quiz on Tuesday.

Chapter 17 Math Quiz Tomorrow: ALL Fourth Grade Classes

Please study the following vocabulary terms for Friday's Quiz:

Point- an exact location in space (tip of a pencil)
Line- straight and continues on in both directions (latitude and longitude)
Line Segment- a part of a line, has a stopping and starting point
Ray- has one endpoint and continues on in one direction. (rays of the sun)
Angle- two rays meet at one endpoint
Vertex- the endpoint
Acute angle- less than 90degrees and greater than zero degrees (ahh is it so cute)
Right angle- equal to 90 degrees (a square corner)
Obtuse angle- greater than 90 degrees and less than 180 degrees (obese angle)
Straight angle- equal to 180 degrees (a line)
Intersecting lines- lines that meet at exactly one point
Parallel lines- lines that will never meet
Perpendicular lines- lines that meet and form for right angles
Coordinate points- Over then up (you have to walk over to the mountain before you can walk up it)

Mrs. Pride's Class Interviews Each Other

Mrs. Pride's class is getting to know each other with classroom interviews. They will be turning the interviews into Power Point presentations telling all about their partners.
